UNHS planning to begin work on new Blanding clinic

Even as the new UNHS Montezuma Creek Clinic draws closer to completion, plans are in the works for beginning the new UNHS Blanding Clinic, across from Blue Mountain Hospital on 300 West. Utah Navajo Health Systems officials announced recently that an open house for the new 55,000 square-foot, two-story clinic building in Montezuma Creek will be held on June 1. The public will be invited to attend the open house and tour the new facility. The official opening date for the new clinic is set for July 27th. While work continues in Montezuma Creek, UNHS officials have selected the contractor to build the new 42,000 square-foot Blanding clinic. It was announced earlier this month that Korte Company has been selected to build the Blanding facility. Groundbreaking for the new clinic is expected to take place in late March or early April with earthwork to begin immediately after that. The project is expected to take fourteen months to complete. UNHS hopes to have the clinic finished by late spring of 2019. The new Blanding Clinic will feature thirty-two exam rooms, a drive-through Pharmacy, two Optometry suites, X-Ray facilities, Behavioral Health counseling facilities, a durable medical equipment office and a large conference room that might be available for the community when not being used by UNHS personnel. UNHS Chief Operating Officer Byron Clarke noted the cooperation of Blanding City in planning and development of the clinic.
